Longtown Border Bull Sale Report

The Border Bull Sale at C&D Auction Marts Limited, Longtown, on Tuesday 8th November 2016, had a quality show of Limousin bulls which sold to 2,900gns for the March 2015 born Annanview Limitless, a Dolcorsllwyn Fabio son. He was sold by Kevin Watret, Maulscastle, Annan to W Tinning, Stockwell Hall.

James Common & Son, Crossdykes took 2,500gns from Messrs J & A McCulloch, Glentoo, Castle Douglas, for Cossdykes Logan, by Westpit Graeme, and at 2,400gns, Meadowrig Luca from A Renton, Stuartslaw, Berwickshire, and sold to Messrs King, Gospel Hall, Jedburgh. Overall Limousin bulls averaged £2,266.

The market for other breeds was selective and topped at 2,000gns for an Isle of Man consigned Charolais bull, Ballakilley Lyle from Mr J H Quine and was bought by TH & MI Huddleston & Son, The Green, Longtown.
