The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart PLC had a catalogue
entry of 528 head at their Spring Kirkcambeck sale at Longtown on
Tuesday 2nd April, 2013.
The sale saw some smaller grazing cattle a shade easier, but on
the whole a satisfactory trade was had.
The sale was topped at £1355
for a Charolais bullock shown by D & Y Wilson, Plumpe Farm, with
others to £1300 and £1205 (x6) from the same home. Heifers
sold to £1330 for Charolais and Angus also from Messrs Wilson,
whose run of 90 cattle averaged £1084.56.
Galloway bullocks
sold to £950 (x3) from JW Forster & Sons,
Smithsteads and Bluegreys to £990 (x2), £910 (x5) shown
by JJ & JM Sanders, Bavington Hill Head.
